The thing about stress is when you experience it in one part of your life; most likely every aspect of your life is affected. Much more if the main root of your stress comes from the workplace where you spend most of your waking hours. I was afraid of the level of stress I was in, so I decided to look for answers through different self-help books. This title stands out; this is what I have in my Kindle which I bring with me to the office. What I notice is the author is genuine in his concern to help people; he does not offer magic spells but a straight-forward challenge that, “You are the solution”. The book starts informing us about stress and a little stress is not that bad. The next chapter would help us to find the problem, the source of our stress then real doable solutions are given on what we should need to do in our workplace with others; in dealing with co-workers and superiors. Ways to strengthen our armory to battle stress are discussed in one chapter. There are five (5) bonus chapters in the 2nd Edition that would do well as another book but I would thank Joe Martin for including it in this book; my favorite chapter would be the one that makes us think “Is it time to quit our job and be an entrepreneur”?

Stress can hurt when you deal with it in large amounts. In this book, the author highlights many things that can cause stress and offers solutions to help alleviate it. Remember, that YOU are the solution to solving stress by dealing with it in a productive way. Very helpful book filled with some knowledge and experience that will help anyone with varying degrees of stress. I recommend this short and to the point read for anyone who is having trouble dealing with stress.

Sincerely, Terry Thompson (author of Leadership Is: A Developmental Leadership Guide to Personal and Professional Success, Push Start: A Practical Guide to Jumpstart Your Life From Average to Awesome, What it takes to become a MENTOR, and Leadership Solved)

This little booklet is long overdue! I appreciated the thoroughness of information that the author brings to the topic but also his compassion and empathy are evident throughout it’s pages.

The inevitability of encountering stress at work, or in life in general is what will attract you to this book but it’s the practicality of the strategies which will keep you reading.

Stress is a part of everyday living and the author’s approach to managing it starts & ends with a plan of action or inaction whichever suits the situation. There is something here for Everyone!

It loses one star simply because I think it needs a graph or two for statistical emphasis, especially for people like me who are more of a visual learner, other than this small hiccup it’s a winner!
