What is an anxiety attack?

An anxiety attack or panic attack can effect men or women and can strike at any time. It is a very quick onset of intense feelings of fear and dread. It is a real feeling of fear and comes with intense symptoms as if the person is in actual danger. Symptoms include shortness of breath, sweating, palpitations, shaking……Basically all the symptoms of someone who is incredibly scared. Anxiety attacks usually only last a few minutes but the feelings are incredibly intense and often terrifying for the sufferer.

Common anxiety attack symptoms

  • Sudden onset of irrational fear
  • Sweating
  • Trembling
  • Strong urge to escape a situation
  • Fast breathing
  • Tensing
  • Feeling like you are going to pass out
  • Tunnel vision
  • Feeling you are going crazy
