Dr. Abel is wonderful and as a client of hers, I can attest that reading her book is just as if you were in a session with her. Her tips are practical and helpful on an immediate basis. She helped me overcome panic attacks when nothing else could and is working with me to overcome my anxiety as well. Many of her chapters in this book have been incredibly helpful, and I often make copies of certain chapters I really struggle with so I can fill out the worksheets for multiple fears and anxieties. It has helped so much already! Her writing is very down to earth and easy to understand, unlike many other books I have tried to read that give you more anxiety just trying to even go through all of the steps, charts etc!

As a clinical psychologist and a national speaker on anxiety disorders, I found a book of wisdom in this resource. I’ve trained 1000’s of clinicians on evidence based methods for anxiety problems and continue to find a hunger for key ideas that can provide breakthroughs with psychological problems—this is what people are looking for!!! I endorse Dr. Abel’s new book with wholehearted passion. In this workbook, she provides cutting edge interventions, critical psychological insights, thoughtful recommendations, with wisdom and advice that will help psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians, professional counselors and clients alike.

As a clinician, I have found Dr. Abel’s tools extremely beneficial. At a personal level, her tools and insights make a profound difference for people as they wrestle with moods and anxiety. Life is full of ups and downs. In the midst of wrestling with life’s surprises and the inevitable ups and downs, we need a support system, a healthy balance of exercise, nutrition and sleep, AND we need tools that can help us stay healthy and happy. I strongly recommend this terrific new workbook by Dr. Abel, who once again has provided us with groundbreaking breakthrough tools improving the quality of our lives. A Toast with a Big Thank You to Dr. Abel!

As a psychiatrist, I’ve had the pleasure of referring patients to Dr. Abel for over 15 years—she is a skilled and evidence-based clinician and lecturer whose careful work with the people I’ve sent her way has yielded life-changing results for them.
In this book, you get the benefits of her education, years of experience, and finely honed instincts. The workbook itself has down to earth insights, recommendations, and do-able exercises that you don’t have to be a clinician to use. There’s a section for therapists to use to help guide their clients that I’ve found highly useful, as well. I’ve been sharing the title with my patients, and recently loaned it to a colleague to review for use in her practice. A terrific tool from which any of us can benefit, both professionally and personally. Buy this book. You won’t regret it.
